| Here's the update:
Not much has been going on this summer. I went to St. Louis for a weekend. Good times. I've been to a couple of Royals games. I've joined Facebook! I just got back from the Youth to Youth International Conference in Ohio. This was my 5th year there! I wasn't on staff, but want to be again! I miss everyone out there. Every time I go out there, people ask me when I'm going to move out there. At least not until I'm done with school, but after that, who knows!? I'd love to be out there, but I want to be close to my family.
Work stinks, but I'm having a good time on campus with the summer crew. I move to Manhattan the second week of August because I'm waiting until after Brooke's wedding.
Well, nothing else is happening!

| - Gianna Jessen is one of the most amazing people ever! I traveled to the University of Kansas to listen to this woman speak, and boy did she speak!
Here's a rundown: She was aborted (with saline at 7 1/2 months) and survived She has cerebral palsy She was never expected to live a "normal" life, but rather, was expected to remain a vegetable She was then never expected to lift her head on her own, sit up on her own, crawl, or walk. She's done all of these and is going to run the Nashville Music City Marathon (not the 1/2, but the full marathon of 26.3 miles) in 3 1/2 weeks She can press 300 lbs. with her legs after one year of training She has been speaking since she was 14, and not because she really wanted to, but because she felt it was what she's supposed to do Her grandmother (who was once her foster mom until her daughter adopted Gianna) is 82 and just joined a gym! She completely forgives her biological mother for what she did She feels that her cerebral palsy is her gift; her special talent She is positive about what happened to her, and instead of seeing herself as a victim, she uses it to witness to others She is one amazing Christian woman who should be an example to all!
I just could not believe this woman when she spoke! She was so positive. And she didn't just talk about her life. She spoke about so many other things that are important in today's society. I encourage everyone to look her up, or if you ever get the chance to hear her speak, do it! She is amazing!
Oh, and in case you haven't heard yet, I'm transferring to K-State (who'd have thunk it, right? not me, that's for sure!) next semester to major in Family Studies and Human Services with an emphasis in Family Life and Community Service.
I think that's about it for me. I leave you with this.
The cemetery of the victims of human cruelty in our century is extended to include yet another vast cemetery, that of the unborn. --Pope John Paul II

| - - Well, it's been a while, and I'm sure most people don't even read this anymore! But what the heck!
I'd have to say that this Spring Break has been great! I got to visit cool cool people in Ohio for 6 days, then I spent more time with Jesus than I have in a long time, which has been really good for me, I hung out with a girl that I'm super proud of, two great people got married, then I spent Easter with my family and hung out with two of the greatest guys in the world, and now I have two more days off than anyone else that I've talked to thus far. So, if that's not a great spring break, I don't know what is!
Other than that, not much is new for me! Let me know what's new with you! | | |
| So, I know it's been forever since I've written in this. And I don't want it to seem like I only write when I need something, but that's the case this time. I would appreciate any prayers you could offer up for my family right now. I'm not sure how many of you remember, but last year about this time I wrote about my baby cousin who was diagnosed with a disease that was life-threatening. We weren't sure how long she was going to live then because the disease is so rare. She was going strong and held on for almost another year, but just couldn't take it anymore, and after being in the hospital for the past month she went on her way to see Jesus on Friday. She was 15 months old, and this is really tough on all of us. It just doesn't quite make sense. So, if you could please keep her and our family in your prayers, I would really appreciate it. God Bless you all!
